1961-1963

This series consists of records created and maintained by President John F. Kennedy's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln. The series contains speeches, announcements, and proclamations which President Kennedy made during the three years of his administration. A major portion of the material is the official press copy of speeches, but there are also numerous reading copies, drafts, memoranda, schedules of visits, and other supplementary information and background material on particular speeches. The speeches and remarks vary a great deal as to subject and reflect the President's schedule of visits to cities and foreign countries, meetings with heads of state, greetings to visiting groups and dignitaries, messages to Congress, remarks at state receptions and banquets, and official proclamations.
